The Story behind TANIS
I have been a facialist and skincare specialist in Somerset for over 20 years . My strong belief in the effectiveness of good facial massage combined with the therapeutic power of natural botanical oils has always been the foundation of my therapies.
I started making my own oil blends as there was nothing out there that satisfied my desire for nutrient rich organic products that smelt beautiful and delivered the results I aspired to.
Researching the best plant extracts and oils and learning about their benefits became a passion and led me on to a qualification in aromatherapy giving me deeper knowledge in blending and efficacy.
I made small batches at home and sold some to clients who always loved them and wanted more! My two boys (8 and 12 at the time) would help with filling the bottles and putting on the stickers.
My holistic massage and skincare practice grew over the following years which limited the amount of time I had to make my oils for others and time passed by…
Last year my youngest, Isaac (now 30!) encouraged me to take the products out of the treatment room and through the rigorous process of regulation which would allow me to share them more widely.
TANIS – Rituals for radiance was born!

TANIT ( The goddess)
My name, Tannis ( also spelt Tanis) is a Greek spelling of the goddess Tanit.
Tanit, was a revered goddess of ancient Carthage , known as the divine mother and protector of life. Tanit symbolised fertility, natural abundance, protection and and the harmonious cycles of the earth and the sky.
Her iconic symbol, found on ancient stone carvings and mosaics, shows a trapezoid under a crescent, with a circle above. It beautifully symbolises the divine feminine together with elements of the earth, the moon and the sun.
This timeless symbol of nurture and renewal graces all our products. Just as Tanit was believed to bless the land with growth and vitality, TANIS oils harness the pure essence of plants to restore balance, radiance and wellbeing to your skin.

Mindful practices make up such an important part of our holistic health, but journaling and meditating may not be something we always have time for. Or it may be that we are not sure how to integrate it into our daily lives.
Through incorporating uplifting rituals into an established daily habit, such as washing and moisturising our faces, we can start and end the day mindfully.
By setting a positive intention during cleansing and practising gratitude whilst moisturising, we can make this a wonderful time to restore calm alongside nurturing our skin.
